The Best Shoes at London Fashion Week
London Fashion Week is over for another season, and what an incredible five days it was. As much as we loved the clothes, here at AllSole we can't help but gravitate towards the shoes - take a look at our favourite footwear from the Spring/Summer '16 collections below.
Inspired by the 1996 Garbage song Stupid Girl, the Le Kilt SS16 collection was all about the cool, grungy teenager, with models wearing short lurex kilts and cropped tops, sheer tops and '60s-inspired prints and shades.
The 1990s were a big inspiration for Markus Lupfer and his SS16 collection too. Monochrome and sheer bomber jackets, loose fit trousers and dresses came covered in dark floral and luchador prints, while pale pink added a smattering of colour to the collection. Skater shoes were worn with all looks, with bejewelled flowers an added embellishment.
Hunter knows good wellies, fact. Its SS16 collection played on its strengths, taking us to the muddy fields of British festivals at London Fashion Week. Wellies came in skin-tight red, green and yellow neoprene, or black and worn over-the-knee, while orange and purple gradient styles took over from the bright floral prints of the past.
Colurful, rubber-clad platforms were the shoes of choice at the Paul Smith SS16 show. Worn with loose, fluid shapes inspired by artists David Hockney and Henri Matisse, and signature boxy Paul Smith tailoring, these shoes added a strong element to each look.
