What is EMU Australia?

Inspired by Australian coastal origins, EMU Australia is a footwear brand that makes innovative and sustainable products that are built to last. Starting out in 1948, they are renowned for using Australian Merino wool, leather and Australian sheepskin to produce comfortable footwear for adults and children. EMU Australia was the first brand to create a water-resistant boot and has since featured in New York Fashion Week and Winter Olympic ceremonies. Around the world people love them for their natural qualities, as they pride themselves on being renewable, biodegradable and 100% natural.

Are EMU Australia boots water-resistant?

Emu sheepskins are pre-treated at the tanning stage to give them water and stain-resistant properties. This means snow and water form beads and just roll or drip off the boots – instead of soaking in, staining the sheepskin and wetting your feet.

Do EMU Australia boots support your feet?

Emu boots have removable arch support insoles and the outer soles are reinforced on the outside edge of the heel area to provide the best possible support for your feet. Both these features help to prevent pronation (the rotational movement of your foot and the collapse of your in-step arch). A pronating foot can lead to foot and knee pain, shin splints, Achilles tendinitis and a lot worse. Emu boots also come with a fibreglass re-enforced heel cup, so your boots do not sag or collapse around your heel.

Where are EMU Australia footwear made?

All of their products are designed in Australia, and either manufactured in Australia or offshore. It is an Australian owned business and has a factory in Geelong, Victoria that makes its Platinum Sheepskin products, such as Platinum Stingers, Outbacks and Slippers.

EMU Australia has their little creatures kids collection which is a fun and playful collection of animal-inspired boots and shoes for children, toddlers and babies. In bright colours with fun 3D designs, the merino wool boots are perfect for little boys and girls.

If you are wondering what size they will need, stick a piece of paper on the floor against the wall and get them to stand on it. Mark on the paper at the tip of their longest foot. Then using a normal ruler measure their size and correlate it with the size chart.
