With us, all filling the diary up for the party season the list of weddings, parties and staff seems to be never-ending. One thing though is for sure, we will have to invest in some new outfits and at the top of that agenda is our footwear.   It's time to invest in your party shoes this season and put the everyday trainers and lounging-around slippers in the cupboard. Looking at our party shoes edit for him and her, here is our footwear rundown…

Party Shoes for Men

Penny Loafer

The loafer is a reliable, stylish footwear alternative shoe for men, they always give the impression you know how to put together an outfit. Perfect for daytime events when paired with tailored shorts or chinos, they can also be easily adapted for a smarter feel with tailored trousers and a few cuff rolls. The classic penny loafer in brown suede is a classic summer go-to, whilst opting for a logo-embellished black penny loafer is the ideal formal slip-on.

Derby Shoes

Derby shoes are a classic cornerstone of every man’s wardrobe. No matter what you are wearing or how old you are, a derby shoe is always a safe smart shoe that will complement your style. A lighter brown pair is ideal for the changing season, whereas black is an all-around go-to option for any afternoon-turned-evening event. Dark brown and black styles work well for sharpening a smart-casual look. Whereas chinos and denim can easily become occasion-appropriate when paired with a simple light brown derby shoe and can tie any outfit together by adding a matching-coloured belt or blazer.

Chelsea Boots

Chelsea boots are an occasion-shoe hero all year round whether paired with simple blue jeans or cropped tailored trousers. For a more casual event looser, dark denim jeans may be the perfect fit, but when dressing for a formal occasion, a well-fitted pair of chinos or trousers in darker shades could work well with chelsea boots as a stylish option. Compliment with a button-down shirt and smart fitted jacket for that sophisticated feel. Heading into the transitional season, match some chelsea boots with a long-length topcoat, smart t-shirt and jeans for that minimalist look.

Embellished Heels

Heels are the perfect leg lengthener and level any look, when it comes to occasion dressing heeled sandals and court shoes are classic must-haves. However, we’re seeing more and more brands adding more embellished heels to their collections, which is a great way to add a statement shoe to a minimal outfit. Typically, for occasions, it’s easy to think of pairing heels with dresses, but embellished heels can be a great way to dress up any trouser suit, smart skirt and shirt combo, jumpsuit or playsuit too. Matching up the tone of your shoes with your bag and/or belt can be a great way to tie together an outfit in a simple, yet relatively effortless style move.

Metallic Heels

This season, we’re seeing metallic everywhere, from clothing to footwear, especially with more metallic heels appearing in leading footwear brand’s collections, with the likes of Dune, Steve Madden, Guess and more. This is the perfect statement shoe to add to your collection, whether that’s in silver or gold, these can be paired with a denim jean and t-shirt for a day-time occasion. Whilst you could opt for a tailored-fit trouser and blouse combo or an LBD for a dressier occasion.

Ballet Flats

Shoes don’t have to be sky-high to be flattering – the perfect ballet flat is equally as eye-catching. Ballet flats have a way of complimenting a dress or skirt and can be perfect for occasions when you’re going to be on your feet a lot. Choose an embellished shoe for a simple outfit to easily add some character to a more minimal look.
