With each new season, the fashion world’s designers seem to take one new bold step towards complete colour confidence. Spring/Summer 2017 is no different; from the zesty yellows and oranges on the catwalks at KENZO and Chanel to the sun-soaked ‘70s teals seen at Miu Miu, SS17’s colour trends embrace all the season’s colour and warmth with an expansive, electric palette from across the spectrum. AllSole analyses the season’s footwear offering to pick out the colour codes you should know, and should be wearing, this spring and summer.
MICHAEL Michael Kors
Set against the backdrop of Mr Rufus Wainright’s dulcet tones, the MICHAEL Michael Kors SS17 collection presented a rich colour palette communicated through bold spring florals. Fittingly for a name now synonymous with fashion royalty, the brand’s seasonal shoe collection was notable for its dazzling metallic styles. If rose-gold was last year’s metallic of choice, classic gold is this year’s pick, ready to sparkle under the summer sun.

KENZO
While KENZO’s Spring/Summer 2017 campaign imagery was notable for its pale pinks and fuchsias, the season’s footwear collection offers the perfect antidote with classic monochrome styles. Accented with colouring from signature KENZO detailing and motifs, KENZO offers a subtle, understated finish to colour-rich outfits.
Loeffler Randall
Noted for its confident, creative femininity, the Loeffler Randall SS17 collection is splattered (at times quite literally) with vibrant colour. Zesty oranges, sizzling fuchsias and soft yellows run throughout the collection, with standout silhouettes including the ‘Clo’ sandals and ‘Logan’ trainers which embody this trend. Like MICHAEL Michael Kors, Loeffler Randall also bows to the season’s metallic trend in the way of accented detailing and metallic styles.
Novesta
Slovakia’s coolest export returns with a summer-ready collection of its beloved canvas sneakers in 2017. The best-selling Novesta Star Master is updated this season in pastel shades, a trend running through both menswear and womenswear.
Dr. Martens
Once famous for a strict colour palette rarely straying from its black and oxblood red core, Dr. Martens showcases some of its iconic styles in sun-ready shades for SS17. Chukka boots and Derby silhouettes taking on the earthy brown shades of a sun-blistered desert are key styles, while refreshing white-hot styles offer Doc Marten’s take on the timeless monochrome trend that resurfaces at this time of year.
Dune
London-based brand Dune’s take on elegant femininity has seen it rise to become of Britain’s best-loved footwear and accessories brands. Elegant simplicity reigns once more for SS17 with a palette shaped by soft nudes and metallics, largely glittering silvers.
