About Jason Wu

Born in Taiwan but now based in Manhattan, designer Jason Wu sparked his interest in fashion after learning how to sew while making dolls, after triggering this passion he wanted to expand his skills and studied sculpture in Tokyo.

In his younger years at 16, Wu worked for toy company Integrity Toys and produced ‘Jason Wu Dolls’ and late ‘Fashion Royalty’.

In his senior year at high school, Wu decided to become a designer and his first collection debuted in 2006 and won Fashion Group International's Rising Star award in 2008.

Wu didn’t just stop at clothing; he also collaborated with Creative Nail Design in spring 2011 to create a set of four nail polishes.

The most famous of his clients is Michelle Obama; she has worn Wu’s designs to many public events, including her husbands’ inauguration. Michelle Obama has been pivotal in the success of Wu’s career.

Wu has a vast celebrity following including Ivana Trump, January Jones and Amber Valletta.

Now with some stunning designs for Melissa, Wu has used his creative flare to collaborate and produce some footwear styles for eco-friendly fans to enjoy.
